maternity & newborns

Maternity and Newborn sessions are far and away some of my favorite sessions to do. Whether it's your first child, your last, or somewhere in between, there are special moments and details to capture for every pregnancy and newborn. As a mom to three kids myself, I've been through so much of what pregnancy and newborns can throw at you, and I understand how to capture you and your family beautifully and comfortably, whether it's in your own home (newborns), or at a location of your choice (maternity). Both maternity and newborn sessions are a combination of portrait and lifestyle images. What does that mean? It means I will capture posed images and details, as well as give prompts for more candid images, where the goal is to capture genuine connections with your newest addition. These are the memories you and they will love to look back on together as they grow. Babies don't keep, let's capture those memories. Read on below to find out more about my newborn sessions.

I offer two types of newborn sessions. Neither is better than the other, it's entirely personal preference! The first is a Traditional Newborn Session. This session type lasts about 2 hours, takes place in your home, and I will bring swaddles, blankets, hats, bows and some other props so that we can spend about half the session photographing the baby wrapped and posed in very simple ways. The other half of the session will be a family session, focused on capturing each family member with the new baby, as well as everyone together. A Traditional Newborn Session must take place within the first two weeks of the baby being born to allow for posing the baby. After this time, babies tend to be harder to settle into sleep and they startle more easily, which makes posing them nearly impossible in the time we have.

The second type of newborn session that I offer is a Lifestyle Newborn Session. This is essentially a family session in your home that focuses on the baby and the new connections with them. It lasts an hour and you can schedule it any time in the first month of baby being born, as there is no formal posing of the baby. Pricing is outlined on the Investment tab of my website, and examples of both can be found below!
